Poetry Reading | glowing soul; wringing clean

reading my first new poem in some time

reading my first new poem in some time

glowing soul; wringing clean

a poem by Gwevera Ninghtingale

illicit wares would wear her down
glamored clowns were groomed to drown

sinister; the ways he spoke
deep inside; his lifetime's joke

so broken free into the sea
he bled the girl he birthed in me

for all I showed him came right back
my mirror's mark was draped in lack

lessened lessons lost allure
ticking talkers taught azure

love was not a thing they saw
twas just a porn within heart's paw

they killed our loves to keep us glum
except myself, for I had won
